AMAND DURAND

Amand Durand (1831 – 1905)
Amand Durand was a French engraver, born in Paris in 1831. Like many artists of his time, he admired the engravings of the great masters, such as Rembrandt, and began to devote his life to engraved reproductions at the actual size of the original images with an unbelievable perfection. In 1905, Amand Durand’s passed on. Today his work is recognized as that of master quality and has been noted by many European curators.
