Victor Vasarely (1908 –
1997)
Hungarian born French artist, Victor Vasarely was the most
creative representative of Op Art. From his systematic observations of optical
illusions he developed a method of geometric abstraction in which an impression
of movement is created through visual ambiguity. The different hues and
arrangements of his brightly colored geometric shapes create an impression of
perpetual movement. His work is represented in galleries and museums worldwide.
